  The earth and the sky are full of many beautiful patterns, and we can learn much from them. The clouds form patterns across the sky which inform us of incoming weather. We watch the movement of the sun, moon, and planets before a glorious array of patterns provided by the stars. The patterns in sun and shadow, the patterns in the moving grasses, the patterns that seedlings make when they sprout out of the ground in the spring all contain information about the movement of energy on the earth. Many ancient civilizations knew that to observe and study nature's patterns were keys to understanding the Great Spirit, the Creator here on earth. Omens were often taken from patterns in nature simply as a way to read how the energies were flowing.
          Many today who are close to the earth and observe nature have made the connection that these patterns are the God-force manifest on earth. Now, when the earth is changing quickly, it is essential to watch the patterns all around us, as they tell us much. They can tell us when the biggest changes come and where. These patterns can tell us where to be.
          Reading patterns in nature and in society takes skills, which are developed through patience and practice. Observation is only one of the skills. Even more important than watching the patterns are feeling them. An intuitive connection with the patterns must be developed so that they convey information through the feelings. Some may develop this skill to the point of actually hearing the patterns speak, another form of clairaudience. Others interpret the patterns with visual pictures, thus using clairvoyance.
          The patterns speak to us and through us. Observing and interpreting patterns are ancient arts that are valid and useful. In fact, these arts can be taken to new heights of reverence and respect as we face a new millennium. Those that are drawn to these arts must be encouraged and supported, because it is through their insights into the patterns that surround us that we come to know when to be where and how to prepare. This book is meant to help many see with new eyes and hear with new ears in the face of this great change, this transformation of human consciousness.
